Architects and Designers

ACADIA provides information including membership info, officers, a steering committee, and a conference paper database for the Association for Computer-Aided Design in Architecture.

American Institute of Architects: The AIA was founded in 1857. Through education, government advocacy, community redevelopment, and public outreach activities, the AIA and its members work to achieve a better, more humane built environment and a higher standard of professionalism for American architects.

The American Society of Landscape Architects is a national professional society that represents the landscape architecture profession in the United States. The scope of the profession includes site planning, garden design, environmental restoration, town or urban planning, park and recreation planning, regional planning, and historic preservation. Practitioners share a commitment of achieving a balance between preservation, use and management of the country's resources.

APLD (Association of Professional Landscape Designers): The Association was incorporated in February 1989 to bring together persons engaged in landscape design in order to advance their common interests.

• Establish standards of excellence in the delivery of landscape design services.
• Encourage Landscape Designers to achieve and maintain such standards of excellence through participation in continuing education and professional programs.
• Promulgate and enforce the associations' standards of practice.
• Keep Landscape Designers abreast of the latest information and developments in the field.
• Provide a forum for Landscape Designers to share ideas and learn from the experiences of others.
• Broaden the scope of traditional landscape design to new and important areas such as management of the environment and the preservation of historically significant landscapes.

The Associated Students of Construction Management (ASCM) at Washington State University is a registered student organization with Associated Students of Washington State University (ASWSU). ASCM offers a wide variety of opportunities and activities for all Construction Management students at Washington State University.

The Green Building Information Council works to advance the energy and environmental performance of buildings through the creation, exchange and application of appropriate and timely information.

The Northwest Construction Consumer Council encompasses five Northwestern states and includes representatives from public and private owner organizations, design professionals, and contractors. Log Home & Timber Frame Builders Associations

The Island School of Building Arts. is a registered Trade School operating in British Columbia and specialize in teaching Timber Frame and Log house Construction and Design. The school offers specific one and two week courses and more comprehensive programs ranging from six to eleven weeks. It also offers apprentice and U-Build options. Students come from all over the world. The Island School delives building courses (including all tools, curriculum and Instructors) to First Nations and Colleges. The instructors are notable in their field, including Authors, Architects, Builders and Engineers.

The Canadian and American Log Builders Association is dedicated to furthering the craft of log building. They provide educational services related to the craft of log building, develop and disseminate educational material and programs related to the craft, establish operating trust funds for scholarships and educational purposes.

The Timber Framers Guild is dedicated to promoting the centuries old craft of timber framing. The reason for its increasing popularity is clear:Timber framing is a building style that unites sound construction techniques with handsome materials to produce a natural, yet beautiful, result. American National Standards Institute: The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), founded in 1918, is a non-profit membership organization that is fully involved in its support of the goals of U.S. and global standardization and committed to enhancing the quality of life.

The American Society of Testing Materials: Organized in 1898, ASTM has grown into one of the largest voluntary standards development systems in the world. The ASTM is a not-for-profit organization that provides a forum for those having general interest in writing the standards for materials, products, systems and services.

The AWCI - Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industries is an association serving manufacturers and contractors in the wall and ceiling industries around the world. The mission of the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industries International is to provide services and undertake activities that enhance the members' ability to operate a successful business.

Windows and Doors

The National Fenestration Rating Council was formed in December 1989 by the fenestration and building industries, government, utilities, and consumer groups to develop a voluntary, national energy rating system for windows, doors, skylights and other fenestration products.
