American Institute of Architects: The AIA was founded in 1857. The American Society of Landscape Architects is a national
professional society that represents the landscape architecture profession in the United States. The
scope of the profession includes site planning, garden design, environmental restoration, town or urban planning, park and recreation planning, regional planning, and historic preservation. Practitioners share a commitment of achieving a balance between preservation, use and management of the country's resources.
APLD (Association of Professional Landscape Designers): The Association was incorporated in February 1989 to bring together persons engaged in landscape design in order to advance their common interests.

Log Home & Timber Frame Builders Associations
The Island School of Building Arts. is a registered Trade School operating in British Columbia and specialize in teaching Timber Frame and Log house Construction and Design. The school offers specific one and two week courses and more comprehensive programs ranging from six to eleven weeks. It also offers apprentice and U-Build options. Students come from all over the world. The Island School delives building courses (including all tools, curriculum and Instructors) to First Nations and Colleges.
