EREC Energy Saving Tips
More EREC Fact Sheets - Consumer Information Reprints from DOE - Topics include energy-efficient windows, cooling your home naturally, programmable thermostats, energy efficient water heating, solar power, and landscaping for energy efficiency.
"Each year families spend almost half of their home utilities budget on heating and cooling costs. These are a few simple things that you can do in your home to save money and help the environment," says Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson." These energy tips and many more are in the Energy Saver's booklet. You may view the entire booklet or download it in PDF format here.
Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC)
Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) - is a business association of the energy efficiency industry with a membership of more than 70 companies throughout the Pacific Northwest. Members include energy service companies, engineering and design firms, equipment sales companies, policy consultants, and energy efficiency program designers, managers and evaluators.
Building Energy Software Tools Directory
The USDOE (Dept. of Energy) BECP (Building Energy
Codes Program) is working to achieve bottom-line benefits for buildings owners and consumers.
BTS' MECcheck and COMcheck-EZ energy code compliance products include software, user's guides, videos, training materials and compliance manuals to help streamline energy code approval and the compliance process for residential and commercial buildings. The MECcheck materials have been developed to simplify and clarify code compliance with the Model Energy Code (MEC), the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), and a number of state codes.
Home Energy Audit On the Web
Save Energy With the "Home Improvement Toolbox"
Looking to save energy on your heating bills? The Energy Star program -- a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and DOE -- has launched a new Web-based "toolbox" that provides online advice for saving energy at home. Through four tools labeled "Home Improvement Tool," "Remodeling and Home Improvement," "Home Doctor," and "Home Benchmarking Tool," this site provides interactive guidance on energy efficiency for your home. See the Energy Star Home Improvement Toolbox at: http://www.epa.gov/hhiptool/index.html.
Those familiar with the Home Energy Saver Web site, produced by DOE's Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (LBL), may notice some similarities to the "Home Improvement Tool" -- both Web sites are powered by the same calculations. If you're not familiar with it, the Home Energy
Saver is worth investigating as a resource for energy-saving ideas. See the LBL Web site at: http://homeenergysaver.lbl.gov/.
